Election Information:
Know the Facts for Colorado!

If my home is in foreclosure, will I be allowed to vote?

·    Every eligible voter has the right to vote in Colorado. The fact that your home is in foreclosure has no bearing on your right to vote. It may, however, affect where you vote.

I received a notice of foreclosure. Is my voter registration affected?

·    A foreclosure notice does not affect residence for the purposes of voter registration. You may register, or remain registered to vote at your current address.

What if I am no longer living in the house for which I received a foreclosure notice?

·    You may register, or remain registered to vote at the address of the property in foreclosure unless you establish a new permanent residence.

I established a new permanent residence due to foreclosure. Do I need to update my voter registration?

·    If you have adopted a new permanent residence prior to the election, you will need to update your voter registration information. You can update your voter registration information by visiting www.GoVoteColorado.gov.

Residential address determines what you are eligible to vote on.  Example: residential address is in the City of Sterling you are eligible to vote on candidates or questions for the City of Sterling.  Residential address is not in the City of Sterling then you will not be eligible to vote on those candidates and questions.   This is the same for school districts and special district election.

Mailing address is where you receive your mail and is different from your residential address and does not determine what you are eligible to vote on.  Example:  residential address is 315 Main Street but I get my mail at PO Box 10000.
