Child Welfare Caseworker

Logan County Department of Human Services

Full Time position. Performs a variety of full performance advanced level complex technical and professional duties as needed to expedite child investigative services in accordance with agency, state, and federal guidelines and laws.

Services provided include the following child welfare areas: counseling, parent education, case planning and management involving circumstances such as sexual abuse, physical abuse, child neglect, foster care, youth in conflict, and related manners.

Conducts inquires concerning allegations of child abuse, youth in conflict, and/or neglect in home or institutional settings, interviews child(ren)/youth, parents, providers, and collaterals and assesses risk and safety to the child/youth; documents the investigative assessment process as required in the State database.

Minimum education: 4 year college degree from an accredited college or university in social work or one of the human behavioral science fields plus one year required internship/residency.

Starting Salary:  $ 19.5997 per hour with benefits – negotiable dependant on education & experience.

Human Services Eligibility Specialist/Technician
Logan County Department of Human Services

Description
The Logan County Human Services Department is seeking Eligibility Specialist/Technician to perform variety of entry level complex clerical duties as needed to expedite the processing of applications, determination of eligibility and the delivery of Human service assistance. Performs routine eligibility determinations and participates in the coordinating of direct services to qualified and approved clients. May be assigned as support staff to one or more specialty programs, i.e., Assistance Programs, Medicaid, SNAP, LEAP.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Education and Experience:

A.         Graduation from high school with course background in offices practices preferred;

                                                  AND

B.         One (1) year of experience performing above or related duties;

                                                               OR

C.         Equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

  1. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Some knowledge of bookkeeping; advanced clerical tasks related to filing, indexing, and record keeping; personal computer operation and various software applications used for word processing and spreadsheet analysis; community resources available for service as alternatives to the county; public relations and interpersonal communications skills; general methods of conflict resolution and stress management.

Skill in interpersonal communication and telephone etiquette. Bilingual skills both in written and spoken format helpful.

Ability to plan and organize work independently; make mathematical calculations quickly and accurately; operate a variety of standard office machines; maintain objectivity in decision making while considering complicated and emotional situations; establish and maintain effective working relationships with State, Federal and Local organizations who provide similar services.

  1. Special Qualifications:

Type 50 wpm.

Must be able to operate personal computer.

Hourly wage:  $16.0099 per hour plus benefits.

Road and Bridge Maintenance Worker

Logan County is looking for a Bridge Maintenance Worker – Full time individual to perform a variety of semi-skills and skilled field maintenance duties related to the installation, maintenance and repair of bridges; performs roadside upkeep and beautification.
 
Minimum Qualifications:  

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent supplemented with training in technical areas of road and bridge construction and maintenance;

AND 

  • Eight (8) years of progressively responsible work in civil engineering, road and bridge construction management or related field, two (2) years of which must have been in a lead worker or foreman capacity;

OR 

  • An equivalent combination of education and experience.

Special Qualification:
