Human Services Eligibility Specialist/Technician

Description

The Logan County Human Services Department is seeking Eligibility Specialist/Technician to perform variety of entry level complex clerical duties as needed to expedite the processing of applications, determination of eligibility and the delivery of Human service assistance. Performs routine eligibility determinations and participates in the coordinating of direct services to qualified and approved clients. May be assigned as support staff to one or more specialty programs, i.e., Assistance Programs, Medicaid, SNAP, LEAP.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Education and Experience:

A.         Graduation from high school with course background in offices practices preferred;

AND

B.         One (1) year of experience performing above or related duties;

OR

C.         Equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

  1. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Some knowledge of bookkeeping; advanced clerical tasks related to filing, indexing, and record keeping; personal computer operation and various software applications used for word processing and spreadsheet analysis; community resources available for service as alternatives to the county; public relations and interpersonal communications skills; general methods of conflict resolution and stress management.

Skill in interpersonal communication and telephone etiquette. Bilingual skills both in written and spoken format helpful.

Ability to plan and organize work independently; make mathematical calculations quickly and accurately; operate a variety of standard office machines; maintain objectivity in decision making while considering complicated and emotional situations; establish and maintain effective working relationships with State, Federal and Local organizations who provide similar services.

  1. Special Qualifications:
    Type 50 wpm.
    Must be able to operate personal computer.

Hourly wage:  $16.0099 per hour plus benefits.

LOGAN COUNTY FULL TIME FAIR/ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT - 

Performs a variety of routine administrative and financial support duties related to planning, organizing and coordinating annual county fair and rodeo.  They will also perform complex clerical and administrative support duties as needed to expedite various functions, projects and operations for the Board of County Commissioners.  This employee will report to the Administrative Officer of the BOCC/HR and County Fair Board Manager.  HS diploma or GED equivalent supplemented with course background in general office practices and skills; plus 1 year of specialized training in coordinating events, accounting, general business or related field and 3 years of progressively responsible experience in coordinating events, administrative processes and knowledge of various computer software applications or an equivalent combination of education and experience.  Starting pay is $16.50 per hour plus Health, and Disability Insurance, Retirement, and Paid Time Off.  Apply to Logan County Human Resources Dept., 315 Main Street, Sterling, CO.  Will be accepting applications until the position is filled.   Must submit Employment Application to be considered for employment.  Job description available here.  EOE

LOGAN COUNTY FAIR MANAGER 

Responsible for the preparation and conduct of the County Fair and related activities.  Must attend monthly meetings and be on-site the week of the Logan County Fair.  Fair Manager shall be an Ex Officio member of the Fair Board and shall represent the Logan County Board of County Commissioners at all Fair Board Meetings.  Expected to prepare a yearly budget for the Logan County Fair and work with Fair Board Members in planning and conducting specific events.  This is a contracted position that pays $6,300.00 annually with no fringe benefits.  Please submit cover letter and resume to Logan County Human Resource Office at 315 Main Street, Sterling, CO 80751.  Resumes will be accepted until the position is filled.

Child Welfare Caseworker

Logan County Department of Human Services

Full Time position. Performs a variety of full performance advanced level complex technical and professional duties as needed to expedite child investigative services in accordance with agency, state, and federal guidelines and laws.

Services provided include the following child welfare areas: counseling, parent education, case planning and management involving circumstances such as sexual abuse, physical abuse, child neglect, foster care, youth in conflict, and related manners.

Conducts inquires concerning allegations of child abuse, youth in conflict, and/or neglect in home or institutional settings, interviews child(ren)/youth, parents, providers, and collaterals and assesses risk and safety to the child/youth; documents the investigative assessment process as required in the State database.

Minimum education: 4 year college degree from an accredited college or university in social work or one of the human behavioral science fields plus one year required internship/residency.

Starting Salary:  $ 19.5997 per hour with benefits – negotiable dependent on education & experience.
